Dawn received her B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois, M.A. in Education from Columbia University, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Temple University. She also serves as Co-Chair of the JALT VocabSIG Research Grants Committee, and as a reader and outreach for the JALT Writers' Peer Support Group (JALT's online writing center). Her other research interests include assessment, discourse communities, and lifestyle migration.

Formerly a librarian at the McGill University Library Systems Montreal, Canada, Dan is a both a data hound and a strong advocate of a paperless approach to teaching. His presentation both in Japan and internationally have focused on the use of data for academic writing (corpus based learning) and the use of elearning tools. He is currently a doctoral candidate in eLearning Leadership at Northcentral University.

Darla is an assistant language teacher at Japanese public schools in the Tokyo area. She received her BA in International Studies and her MA in Japanese Culture. In the process, she discovered her love of teaching by working with second language learners at writing centers. She's also involved with the growing English Parliamentary Debate activities in Japan.

He is currently a Master's candidate in the Graduate of Education (TESOL) at Temple University, Tokyo campus. Prior to his teaching career, he spent five years in the corporate oil and gas industry in Canada after receiving his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary. His research interest include motivation, study abroad program, and intercultural communication.

Secretary: Yuko Tanahashi, Temple University
Yuko Tanahashi holds a Japanese teaching license and a B.A. in Social Science from International Christian Universiy. She is currently attending Temple University to obtain her M.A. in TESOL. She has taught Kindergarten, K-6 ESL, and Art at an international school in Tokyo for 8 years, and has received specialized teacher training at a public elementary school, special education school, and a senior citizens' home. She spent her teenage years in Massachusetts, acquiring English as a second language.

Jim is a lecturer in TESOL and applied linguistics at the University of Bath in the UK. He holds a PhD from the Victoria University of Wellington. Previously, he served as Tokyo chapter president from 2011-2013 and taught at Sophia University from 2005-2016. His research is mainly in L2 writing and English medium instruction, and he is co-editor (with Dr. Heath Rose, University of Oxford) of the volume Doing Research in Applied Linguistics (Routledge, 2017).

Christopher has an M.A. in TESOL from Temple University and has taught English at several universities in Tokyo, including Tokyo Woman’s Christian University, Temple University, Nippon Medical School, and Musashino University. He is also a content writer and editor for a web-based language-learning company. His research interests include corpus linguistics, vocabulary acquisition, and SLA.
